Standard Range uPVC Sliding Sash Windows

From £430 Incl. VAT

Made-to-Measure uPVC Sliding Sash Windows

Standard Range uPVC Sliding Sash Windows

Our Standard Range uPVC Sliding Sash Windows are designed for customers who want more traditional styling, greater customisation, and additional upgrade flexibility compared to the Essential range. Starting from £430+VAT, this range introduces more detailed sash window features while still maintaining a practical and competitive price point.

Unlike the Essential range, the Standard range includes mechanical frame joints, sash horns, and trickle vents as standard, helping create a more authentic sash window appearance straight from the base specification. Customers also gain access to a much wider range of upgrade options including woodgrain finishes, slim midrails, deep bottom rails, laminated glass, and improved thermal glazing upgrades.

This range is particularly suited to homeowners upgrading period-style properties, renovation projects requiring additional detailing, and customers who want more control over the final appearance of their sash windows without moving into a fully heritage specification.

Features of Our Standard Range uPVC Sliding Sash Windows

The Standard range has been developed for customers who want more traditional sash window detailing and broader upgrade flexibility compared to the Essential range. Instead of focusing purely on affordability, this range creates a stronger balance between appearance, functionality, and customisation.

As standard, the Standard range includes mechanical frame joints, sash horns, trickle vents, integrated cills, double glazing, toughened glass to the lower sash, Deep bottom rail, slim midrail, travel restrictors, lockable restrictors and full made-to-measure sizing. These features help create a more detailed sash window appearance while improving ventilation and giving the windows a more refined finish overall.

The Standard range also opens access to a wider range of upgrade options. Customers can configure astragal bars, weather bars, laminated glazing, upgraded thermal performance, and additional hardware accessories depending on the style and performance requirements of the property.

While the Standard range includes significantly more flexibility than the Essential range, some premium traditional detailing and fully heritage-style features remain reserved for our Enhanced and Heritage collections.

Colour Options

Full Colour Options for Complete Design Control

The Standard range includes a much wider selection of finishes compared to the Essential range, making it a strong choice for customers who want a more traditional sash window appearance without moving into a fully heritage specification.

Unlike the Essential range, where only smooth white is included as standard, the Standard range includes both smooth white and standard woodgrain finishes within the base price. This allows homeowners, architects, and contractors to achieve a more detailed timber-style appearance while still maintaining a practical and cost-effective specification.

The included woodgrain collection provides a broad choice of traditional and modern finishes suitable for period properties, residential renovations, extensions, and development projects. Customers can choose matching internal and external finishes or selected dual-colour combinations depending on the final design requirements.

For customers looking for fully bespoke finishes, additional bespoke woodgrain and special RAL colour options are also available as optional upgrades within the Standard range.

Important colour upgrade note
To keep the Essential range competitively priced, bespoke woodgrain finishes and bespoke RAL colour options are not included within the standard specification. Customers who require more traditional timber-style finishes or customised colour options can upgrade to one of our higher sash window ranges, such as standard range sash windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find clear answers to the most common questions about our uPVC sliding sash windows, including how they work, how to order online, delivery, lead times, glazing options and the differences between our available ranges.

uPVC sliding sash windows are vertically opening windows made up of two separate panels, known as sashes, which sit one above the other within the frame. The bottom sash slides upwards and the top sash slides downwards, allowing you to control airflow by opening either section or both together.

Unlike traditional timber sash windows, modern versions are manufactured using durable uPVC profiles. This means you retain the classic sash window design commonly seen in period properties across the UK, while benefiting from improved insulation, enhanced security and minimal maintenance.

Most modern uPVC sash windows also include a tilt function, allowing both sashes to tilt inwards for easy and safe cleaning from inside the property.

At Sliding Sash Windows UK, we offer four ranges so you can choose based on your budget and how much customisation you need.

The Essential range keeps things simple with core features and a white finish.
The Standard range gives you more flexibility with colours, hardware and upgrades.
The Enhanced range includes more features as standard, so you do not have to add them individually.
The Heritage range is fully specified with traditional detailing like mechanical joints and woodgrain finishes, making it ideal for period and conservation-style properties.

Yes, we deliver nationwide across the UK. There are some areas where delivery may be limited, but we will always confirm this during the order process.

Delivery charges start from £36 and may vary depending on your location.

Our standard lead time for uPVC sliding sash windows is usually between 2 to 3 weeks. This can vary depending on the size of your order, the range you choose and any bespoke options such as special colours or upgraded glazing.

We always recommend measuring the width and height of your window opening from brick to brick or frame to frame. It is important to take multiple measurements and use the smallest size to ensure a proper fit.

If you are unsure, you can contact our team and we will guide you through the process before you place your order.

Yes, replacing timber sash windows with uPVC sliding sash windows is very common. Our windows are designed to replicate the original appearance while improving insulation, security and durability.

For conservation areas or period properties, our Heritage range is specifically designed to maintain the traditional look while meeting modern performance standards.

In many cases, yes. Our Heritage range includes traditional features such as mechanical joints, run-through sash horns and woodgrain finishes, which are often required for conservation-style projects.

However, approval depends on your local authority, so we always recommend checking before placing an order.

We offer a full range of glazing options including standard double glazing, laminated glass for safety, acoustic glass for noise reduction and obscure glass for privacy.

All windows come with high-performance glazing as standard, and upgrades are available depending on your requirements.

Our windows are built with secure locking systems and reinforced profiles. We also offer a PAS 24 security upgrade, which includes enhanced locking and additional security features.

With proper care, uPVC sash windows can last for decades. They are designed to resist weathering, do not rot like timber and require very little maintenance to keep them performing well.

Maintenance is minimal. You do not need to paint or treat the frames like timber windows. Regular cleaning and occasional checks on moving parts are usually enough to keep them in good condition.

Yes, all of our windows can be customised depending on the range you choose. You can select from smooth white, woodgrain finishes, dual colours and bespoke RAL options, along with a full range of hardware and glazing upgrades.

If you are unsure about anything, our team is here to help. You can contact us through the website form or email, and we will guide you through measuring, selecting options and placing your order.
